quality USED PIANOs
Not every used piano deserves a second life β and at Merriam Music America, we're picky about which ones get one.
Between our Atlanta showroom and our broader sourcing network, we see hundreds of pianos a year: trade-ins, consignments, and offers from families letting go of an old friend. Most don't make the cut. The ones that do go through a standard we don't bend on:
- Pinblock β strong grip, steady tuning
- Soundboard β no cracks, plenty of life left in the crown
- Hammers β enough felt for real voicing, not just a quick fix
- Action β keys level, regulation tight, no clicks, dampers doing their job
- Strings β clean tone, no buzzing, years left of regular tuning
- Cabinet β structurally sound, and a finish that looks the part
Once a piano earns its spot, our team gets to work β full regulation, several rounds of tuning, cabinet touch-ups, and whatever internal repair it takes to get it playing the way it did the day it left the factory.
